Welcome Back September 2022!!

Welcome back to all of our cadets, new and returning. Our first night back for all of our returning cadets will be on September 8th 2022 at Ecole Secondaire Pierre-De-Blois, 1310 Chapman Mills Dr, Nepean, Ontario, K2G 6Z3.

Cadets who have yet to log in to their Cadets365 accounts will be contacted by someone in administration with details for their account (emails and generic passwords for initial log in) and get themselves onboarded. All cadets are expected to be onboarded to Cadets365 by September 15th 2022. Frequently Asked Questions/Answers can be found here

Every year all of our returning cadets are required to confirm personal information via the Annual Validation form, in the coming weeks we will be providing more information to cadets, parents and guardians on how to complete this process; stay tuned to announcements for more information. 

New Cadet Registration Applications

If you know any 12-15 year old youth interested to join 75 Squadron, we invite you to join us on September 15th at Ecole Secondaire Pierre-De-Blois, 1310 Chapman Mills Drive, Nepean, Ontario, K2G 6Z3.

How to register:

1. Parents/guardians use this link to register on any device, you will then receive a generic confirmation email;

2. Submitted forms will be received by Squadron staff, who will verify the information, additional documents (identification card and health insurance documents) should be submitted in person on thursday night training, starting on September 15th 2022, however if there is a scheduling conflict preventing parents from bringing in the documents please email us at [email protected] and we will provide an alternate method;

3. Once registered, new cadets will be introduced to their training level, including a staff member – a Level Officer, who will be their primary point of contact for the training year.

Join us on Thursday September 15th from 18:30-21:00 or Saturday September 24th for our open house from 09:00-12:00 to complete the registration process by submitting copies of the required identification documents and health insurance information in person. 

Documents can also be submitted on any thursday night following September 15th 2022.

Health card expiry

Reminder to all of our cadets and parents/guardians that provincial extension of health card renewal ends at end of September 2022 per  https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1001570/ontario-extending-health-card-renewal-requirement

Fall Field Training Exercise (FTX)

Who: All Cadets
Dress: C5 (FTU) or appropriate clothing for outdoor activity (see attached kit list). Dress for the weather.
Where: Pierre de Blois High School – 1310 Chapman Mills Dr.
When:
Levels 1 & 3: Departure Sep 30 @1800hrs – Pickup Oct 2 @ 1430hrs
Levels 2 & 4: Departure Sep 30 @ 1900hrs – Pickup Oct 2 @ 1530hrs
Details: All meals provided. Cadets must bring canteen / water bottle. You can find a link to the Kit List here

*A mask must be worn at all times.

75 Squadron will participate in a Field Training Exercise (FTX). This is a mandatory for all cadets. Other than having fun doing activities, this FTX allow cadets to learn and practice basic skills when stranded in the wilderness. Such skills include, first aid, building shelters based on situation, strategies to get rescued, and much more.

Please Note: Meals will be provided as MRE’s and unfortunately can not be changed based on allergies. If a cadet has any severe allergies they will be required to bring their own meals.  If you have any questions please reach out to us at [email protected]

Aero-Gatineau Air Show

Date: September 17th 2022
Times: 08:30-17:30
Dress: To be announced
Lunch: Cadets are expected to bring their own lunch
Transportation: Bus provided, location for drop off and pick up will be confirmed through announcements
Event Details: For this first in-person air show in Quebec in 2 years, the Aero Gatineau-Ottawa team has pulled out all the stops with more than sixty aircraft on display, both on the ground and in the air. A real jet truck (truck equipped with a jet engine) will be present to race against an aircraft! The Northern Stars Aeroteam, made up of 3 seasoned pilots at the controls of Pitts Special, as well as Rick Volker and his famous pink Sukhoi SU-26M and Mario Hamel aboard his Salto glider, will be performing amazing aerobatics. Several key players in new aerospace technologies will be on hand to showcase prototype electric aircraft and drones.

Please note each squadron has been given 20 tickets, this means that we will not be able to bring all of our cadets and therefore this will be a first come first serve sign up at the link found here

Abseiling

Date: September 18th 2022
Times: 08:30 – 12:00
Address: Connaught Training Centre, 11 Shirley Boulevard, Ottawa, Ontario, K2K 2Z2
Dress:  CF (FTU) or weather appropriate outdoor activity. Long hair must be tied back. All cadets must wear hard-soled shoes. Do not wear loose clothing.
Meeting location: Abseil tower on Shirley Blvd
