Regular Training

This Thursday will be a regular training night for all cadets. The dress for this week is C5 (FTU) or appropriate civilian attire if exchange of uniform is required with Supply. Cadets are to wear a white dress shirt and dark coloured pants if they have not yet been issued their uniform. Arrival time is 18:30 at Ecole Secondaire Pierre-De-Blois, 1310 Chapman Mills Dr, Nepean, Ontario, K2J 6L9. Parents are to pick up their child no later than 9:30 PM.

Commanding Officer’s Parade 

Thursday April 27th will be a regular training followed by the CO’s Parade. The dress for that week will be C1A (Ceremonial Dress). If you have not been issued a dress uniform, please wear your FTU. For our new cadets or waiting for uniform parts please wear a white shirt and dark pants. There will be various special presentations.

Parents are invited to watch this parade, please arrive and be seated in the gymnasium at 8:15 PM. Cadets are to still arrive at 6:30PM

Upcoming Activities

Please consult the squadron calendar on our website for details (i.e. sign up, transportation etc.) for upcoming general and optional team activities.

While we understand that situations may unexpectedly arise from time to time, we expect that parents pick up their child in a timely manner from all cadet activities per their respective timings. 

Cadet Engagement day

Parent Volunteers 

Since the beginning of the pandemic, our fundraising has been reduced to almost nil. As we look to the future, and in an effort to continue with our programs, we will be holding 2 Community Engagement Days, April 15th and 22nd. Cadets will fill 2 hours shifts outside various retail locations to collect donations and engage with the public. We are looking for adults volunteers to support this initiative. Details have been emailed to parents and can be found here.

Cadet Volunteers

Cadet volunteers can register for a 2 hour shift on April 22nd by registering here. Cadets can receive volunteer hours for this activity.  

Spring Field Training Exercise (FTX)

On 6 May 2023 until 7 May 2023, the 75 air cadet sqn will conduct its second field training exercise of the 2022-23 training year at CTC Connaught. This will be a mandatory joint exercise with 632 Sqn and will bring over 300 cadets together for a weekend of practical training and fun!

The purpose of this joint exercise is to provide the practical aspect of mandatory and complimentary aircrew survival training to cadets. This exercise acts as an opportunity to develop leadership skills, esprit de corps and morale.

75 Squadron cadets will be partaking in the Canadian Armed Forces Familiarization Day at the Ottawa International Airport on April 29, 2023. Demos and truck tours from surface operations including snow, grass, and debris equipment, airport fire department, k9 unit, bird handler, and more! Details and sign-up can be found here.  Gliding

Cadet will have the opportunity to participate in gliding familiarization on May 14th, 2022. Please note that the registration is closed. The final participants for this activity will be selected and notified in the coming weeks. 

Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Familiarization / Ottawa Airport Tour

75 Squadron cadets will be partaking in the Canadian Armed Forces Familiarization day at the Ottawa International Airport on April 29, 2023. Details and sign-up can be found here

If you are planning to leave 75 Squadron or transfer to another unit, please contact us so that we me may close your membership accordingly.

For any cadet who does not have access to their Cadet365 and or is having account issues, please contact [email protected] with your name, rank, and level and he will provide you with a teams link.

Supply
Cadets are to return DEU (Blue) uniforms that don’t fit starting. This will allow Supply to have enough blue uniforms to issue in the coming months.

Reminder that uniform parts are provided free of charge, but on loan for the duration of your membership in the cadet program, therefore they must be returned when exchanging them for another size or when leaving the Squadron.

For new cadets, you will be measured during training nights, and will be receiving your FTU a few weeks into the training year. Should you have any questions, please contact the Supply Officer, Capt Tessier ([email protected]).
