Regular Training

This Thursday will be a regular training night for all cadets.  The dress for this week is C5 (FTU) or appropriate civilian attire if exchange of uniform is required with Supply. Cadets are to wear a white dress shirt and dark coloured pants if they have not yet been issued their uniform. Arrival time is 18:30 at Ecole Secondaire Pierre-De-Blois, 1310 Chapman Mills Dr, Nepean, Ontario, K2J 6L9. Parents are to pick up their child no later than 9:15 PM.

Placement/Wearing of Poppy on Cadet Uniforms

Outdoor Footwear at Pierre de Blois High School 

All cadets are not to wear outdoor shoes to cadets and will be expected to arrive with two pairs of footwear (outdoor and indoor). There will be a designated area for cadets to change from their outdoor to indoor footwear. There will be consequences for cadets who do not follow this direction that include not being allowed into the gymnasium area and being sent home. 

Cadet with Anaphylaxis Medical Conditions

As per direction we have received from our chain of command  (Regional Medical Liaison Section) and to ensure safety, all cadets with an anaphylaxis medical condition are required to bring and present two epi-pens to all cadet training activities. Cadets with anaphylaxis condition are to show their epi-pens on Thursday nights to the Administration Section. For all other cadet activities, cadet are to show their epi-pens to the supervising adult staff member(s). 

Upcoming Activities

Please consult the squadron calendar on our website for details (i.e. sign up, transportation etc.) for upcoming general and optional team activities.

While we understand that situations may unexpectedly arise from time to time, we expect that parents pick up their child in a timely manner from all cadet activities per their respective timings. 

Biathlon Training Program/Team

Biathlon is a combination of cross country skiing (skate technique) and target shooting. It is a very exciting, fast paced sport that challenges athletes. Please see and complete this form for further details

National Remembrance Day Parade at the National War Memorial 

 

Cadets will have the opportunity to participate in the National Remembrance Day ceremony. Participation in this activity will be limited to cadets that have an issued and fitting blue uniform. Further details, including sign-up can be found here

 

Barrhaven Legion Poppy Campaign 

 

Cadets will support the Barrhaven Legion’ Poppy Campaign this Sunday, November 5th. Sign-up and detail can be found here

 

Barrhaven Remembrance Day Ceremony 

 

Cadet will support and participate in the Barrhaven Legion Remembrance Day Ceremony. Details can be found here

Supply

Cadets are to return DEU (Blue) uniforms that don’t fit starting. This will allow Supply to have enough blue uniforms to issue in the coming months.

Reminder that uniform parts are provided free of charge, but on loan for the duration of your membership in the cadet program, therefore they must be returned when exchanging them for another size or when leaving the Squadron.

For new cadets, you will be measured during training nights, and will be receiving your FTU a few weeks into the training year. Should you have any questions, please contact the Supply Officer, Capt Tessier ([email protected]).
