Regular Training for Returning Cadets 

Regular thursday training will resume on September 7th,  2023 only for all cadets returning to the cadet program. The dress for this week is C5 (FTU) or appropriate civilian attire if exchange of uniform is required with Supply. Cadets are to wear a white dress shirt and dark coloured pants if they have not yet been issued their uniform. Arrival time is 18:30 at the Nepean Sportsplex (Halls A & B) for this week only. Parents are to pick up their child no later than 9:15 PM

Registration and Information Night for New Cadets 

-A registration and information night for new cadets will take place on September 14th, 2023 at 7 PM at Ecole Secondaire Pierre-De-Blois, 1310 Chapman Mills Dr, Nepean, Ontario, K2J 6L9. Parents are to pick up their child no later than 9:15 PM

-If they haven’t done so already parents/guardians are strongly encouraged  use this link to register their child prior to the registration and information night to expedite the registration process
-Parents/guardians will receive a confirmation once their registration has been accepted and processed. 

Additional documents (identification cards, health insurance cards, medical documentation etc.) should be submitted in person during this night. 

-New/prospective cadets are encouraged to attend this sessions with their parent(s)/guardian(s)

Cadets not returning

Administration will be contacting parents/guardians and cadets with to confirm which cadets will not be returning to training. Administration will provide specific instructions to parents/guardians who advise that their cadet(s) will not be returning this training year.  

Outdoor Footwear at Pierre de Blois High School 

All cadets are not to wear outdoor shoes to cadets and will be expected to arrive with two pairs of footwear (outdoor and indoor). There will be a designated area for cadets to change from their outdoor to indoor footwear. There will be consequences for cadets who do not follow this direction that include not being allowed into the gymnasium area and being sent home. 

 Upcoming Activities

Please consult the squadron calendar on our website for details (i.e. sign up, transportation etc.) for upcoming general and optional team activities.

While we understand that situations may unexpectedly arise from time to time, we expect that parents pick up their child in a timely manner from all cadet activities per their respective timings. 

Level 5 Leadership Day 

This mandatory activity will tentatively take place on September 10th from 9AM to 4 PM. Level 5 cadets are to sign up here for this activity. 

Gatineau Air show

Cadets have the opportunity to participate and attend the Gatineau Air Show on September 16th 8:30 AM to 6 PM. Sign up and details can be found here.

Gliding Familiarization

Cadets will participate in Gliding on September 16th from 8AM to 5 PM. Sign up and details can be found here




Fall Field Training Exercise (FTX)

On September 29th, 2023 until October 1st 2023, the unit will conduct its first FTX of the 2023-24 training year at CTC Rideau Hill Camp. This is a mandatory exercise for all cadets. Full details and registration can be found here.

Supply
Cadets are to return DEU (Blue) uniforms that don’t fit starting. This will allow Supply to have enough blue uniforms to issue in the coming months.

Cadets that are not returning to training this year are to return their uniform on September 21, 2023. 

Reminder that uniform parts are provided free of charge, but on loan for the duration of your membership in the cadet program, therefore they must be returned when exchanging them for another size or when leaving the Squadron.

For new cadets, you will be measured during training nights, and will be receiving your FTU a few weeks into the training year. Should you have any questions, please contact the Supply Officer, Capt Tessier ([email protected]).
